About  Charles Steelman

My goal as an artist is to invite the viewer into the scene, to step onto a path whose destination is unknown, yet full of possibility. I hope my work carries you to places you’ve never been, places where new adventures and experiences unfold, and where peace can be found. I want my paintings to become that “happy place” you revisit in times of stress, offering comfort and renewal.

My style is loose and intuitive, leaning

toward impressionism with a more grounded, conservative touch. I work with  palette knife, or brush, tools that capture texture and emotion to make that connection with nature.  I strive to create not just an image, but a feeling, one that resonates and forms a personal connection with the viewer.

I have been painting my whole life, beginning in high school, continuing through college, and breaking only during my career as a graphic designer. Now, with more time to devote to my art,

I am able to return to what I love most, connecting with nature and revealing some of its quiet, enduring secrets on canvas.
